Hi guys, hope you’re all having a good week, and are looking forward to the ever approaching Winter season! I’ve been busy working and getting some much-needed jobs done around the house, finally after nearly two years in the house the front garden is sorted, I turned into Charlie Dimmock for an afternoon, pulled up some bushes and planted some pretty new ones, if I’m honest I haven’t really got a clue what I’m doing so just keeping my fingers crossed they make it, and I’ve finally picked a green paint I like for the front room. All that said and done my favourite thing about this week was I finally got to try the new Revolution Conceal and Hydrate foundation and concealer, plus the Hydrate and Fix fixing spray.
I was a big fan of the first Conceal and Define range brought out a few years ago, and used the foundation and concealer for a while but found that with my dry skin I could only use a best for a few days as it completely dried me out and the formula itself just didn’t quite sit right on my skin but for the price was a perfectly adequate stand-in foundation. So when I saw a couple of months ago Revolution was releasing a brand new Conceal and Hydrate range I had to give it a try, it sounded as though it would tick all the boxes, full-coverage, dewy, well priced and kind on my skin. I waited until they were in my local Superdrug then purchased:
- Conceal & Hydrate foundation – £9
- Conceal & Hydrate concealer – £7
- Hydrate & Fix fixing spray – £8
I’ll give you a little walkthrough of what I thought on each item and its claims vs what it can actually do and I’ll pop a couple of before and after pictures up so you can see the power the products have on my face.

Conceal & Hydrate Foundation (shade F4):
Claims: Conceal & Hydrate foundation has been specially formulated to suit every skin type and tone, but it’s particularly beneficial for dry skin. With hyaluronic acid, it offers all day long radiance and glow without settling into fine lines or clinging to dry patches. Housed in a luxe glass bottle with a new pump applicator, for added control, offers medium to full coverage.

My Thoughts: I’m so happy to finally have my hands on this foundation, I wanted to wait until it came into my local Superdrug store so I knew I was getting the right colour match, and with 50 different shades guessing wasn’t really a good option, I went for shade F4 which is for light skin tones with a pink undertone and the match does seem very good so far, I think as we get further into the winter I might need to go down a shade but I’m very happy with how great the colour looks on my skin. Firstly the design of the bottles great, I’m attracted to anything rose gold anyway but I’m really happy they’ve changed from plastic to glass bottles. The new pump applicator is great I find that one pump is the perfect amount to cover my entire face, so really happy there will be no wasting there. This formula applies like butter and blends into my skin so easily and I have no issues applying it to drier areas. The only thing I will say is if your wanting a light coverage, natural look this probably isn’t the foundation for you, but for me, it’s a great everyday work look however is most definitely a full-coverage formula which for me is brilliant as it covers all my redness and any occasional pimples. I’ve been wearing this every day for a week now and it’s not affected my skin in any way, no breakouts or extra dryness. Even though this is specifically directed towards dry skin I believe it would be good for any skin type as my skin doesn’t look or feel greasy when it’s on, just nicely hydrated. As my age is creeping up lines are started to appear in places I wish there were none but I’m pleased to report it didn’t sit in any creases and lasts all day without looking patchy. I do set it with a little powder under my eyes and use the fixing spray so it doesn’t budge. With 50 shades available there’s the perfect shade for everyone all skin shades and undertones are covered. Overall I’m extremely happy with this foundation and I think Revolution has really created something great, for just £9 the value for money is incredible and I’ve definitely found a new favourite that will be a staple in my makeup bag for a very long time.
Conceal & Hydrate Concealer (shade C3):
Claims: This concealer is suitable for everyone looking for a lightweight finish with a boost of moisture. Offering all-day hydration thanks to an infusion of hyaluronic acid, it covers blemishes, evens skin tone and counteracts dark circles, while drenching skin with moisture. Designed for drier skin, the sheer satin finish won’t settle into fine lines, and the doe-foot applicator allows for a smooth, delicate application.

My Thoughts: The same great shade range as the foundation but I decided to go for one lighter than my foundation shade as I like to try and bring a little lightness to the deep dark pools under my eyes, but I didn’t want to go too light as I still wanted the same shade to be able to cover spots and imperfections. The formula applies well I love applicator and how well it applies to my skin. It’s quite a thick, creamy concealer so you don’t need to smoother your face to cover any imperfections. I haven’t had any big breakouts since using it but the few little pimples I’ve had and the scarring on my face have covered extremely well. The biggest thing for me is that it didn’t settle in the creases under my eyes and lasted all day without settling into lines. It dealt very well with any dry areas as normally concealer catches dry patches and can make it stand out fortunately this formula just made my skin look smooth. Gets a big thumbs up from me.

Hydrate & Fix Fixing Spray:
Claims: Infused with hyaluronic acid, this spray helps to hydrate the complexion whilst offering up a gorgeous plumping effect. Not only that, but the long-wear formula will keep makeup in place all day long.

My Thoughts: I’m a big believer in setting sprays, they make a huge difference to how well makeup stays put during the day and helps it look fresher for longer. Some setting sprays can be a little drying, so I had to give this one a try with the other new products, as they make a nice little hydrating face base trio. Firstly I like the smell sometimes setting sprays can smell a little chemically but this was lovely and fresh with a hint of vanilla. It doesn’t take long to dry on the skin and doesn’t make my skin feel wet. I most definitely agree that it doesn’t dry the skin out at all it’s got a very hydrating feel to it and sets my makeup in place. I use at the end of my makeup routine and it helps keep everything where it should be not just the foundation and concealer. Once it’s gone I’ll be re-purchasing! So impressed with this spray.

My Before & After using this trio:

Final Thoughts:
I’m so happy with this little trio for such a small price they make one hell of a mark! The value for money is incredible for the quality of the product that you get, the fact they’re all infused with hyaluronic acid which is such as great product as it; enhances you skin moisture content, revitalise skins outer surface layers and improves the appearance of lines and wrinkles. I absolutely love this range and I’m looking forward to seeing if they add any other products onto the line.
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these before and what you think.
Thank you for reading!
